Pesty Tribe Up 2 – 0 On Yankees
Andy Pettite and the Mighty New York Yankees were in control of Game 2 for 7 innings tonight. That all changed in the 8th when what can only be described as a scene from a movie… an invasion of flying insects took to Jacobs Field. It was unfortunate timing for the Yankees phenom Joba Chamberlain as he toed the rubber during the bugfest.
Joba mowed the Indians down the inning before, but clearly was impacted by the insects. The Tribe would grind out a run to tie the game at 1 – 1 and outlast the Yankees and put them away with a Travis Hafner RBI single in the bottom of the 11th.
Alex Rodriguez has yet to show up for the playoffs. He finished Game 2 going 0 – 4 with 3k. This may be his swan song in the Big Apple if his bat stays cold… the Bronx Bombers will not win if he doesn’t hit.
