Sideline Reporters: Eye Candy With Microphones

ines-sainz3
Ines Sainz – Mexican Sports Reporter

I guess I never really give it any thought when I’m working in a locker room, the radio TV studio or anywhere in which my path crosses with an attractive female colleague…but I do have an opinion on it though and it is not PC. My feeling is that if you are a sexy, attractive female that can use you looks, figure, attire or sexy attitude to do your job better, do what you need to do.

I know that my friends and others that do what we do in this business feels that this is not fair, and it probably isn’t but life isn’t fair so deal with your realities as they are. I know they will be a day that comes where a pretty lady with nice breasts and a great smile can take my spot or a sharper, smoother good looking young fella, but who is to say that I did not get access to the opportunity because of my skin color. I feel like that is not the case, but I also know that people in this profession of sports broadcasting feel some of my colleagues of color do not warrant their positions, but have them because the are minorities.

Jill Arrington – Former ESPN Reporter

I stopped trying to fight that battle alone a long time ago, and the reason why is the quality of your work will dictate those feelings one way or the other. I assure anybody who has worked with me can tell you that I earn my right to be in that locker room, press-box or sports venue because I don’t worry about how they (my colleagues) feel I am doing my job, I take care of that on my own. This gets me back to the Erin Andrews, Rachel Nichols, Melissa Starks and Jill Arrington’s of this world known as sports broadcasting sexy divas, last I checked they have the same access I do to players, coaches, sports locations etc.

The difference is because of that mic flag they carry they may get more access than the average reporter does that is where I sense the bitching and moaning from the great masses I work with. That is not the fault of these good looking reporters, if you have have a beef with the quality of their work, guess what? Blame yourselves because they wouldn’t have the jobs they have If they didn’t grade out well at least in their “Q” ratings and most important satisfy their employers and the watching consumers.

These women are not exactly enthused that they are looked at as “tarts”, but also understand this is the price they pay to do what they do. God blessed them with pretty legs, nice breasts, killer body or beautiful smile and it is not their only attributes. Reality is though that you wont have your average 17 year old giving himself a fantasy tug watching Chris Berman? Think about you know it is sooooo true.

You totaly skip over the act thsat is you are going to use your body and good ooks to get ahead you can’t complain that someone is looking and commenting on said body and boobs that are shoved into their faces!! The simple fact is it is discrimination also because you have half naked men in a locker room just doing their thing and this woman wearing tight as tops and painted on pants coming into it..will she see a guy naked? Well then she needs to be FIRED….how do you think that guy feels just trying to shower and get dressed and have some woman come into “THEIR LOCKER ROOM{” and see or oogle them? They don’t allow MEN into the ladies locker rooms to do interviews so they are sexist bigots……why the double standard? I’m just saying it is not right and not fair at ALL….what if the woman was considered ugly by a few of the guys..to me that ass is just a little TOO BIG…do you want some slug seeing you naked???I would say hey if she is allowed to come in here while we are naked ALLOWED to see things that if the guy showed anywere else he would go to jail mind you, then unless you discrminate you HAVE TO let guys do interviews in ladies locker rooms!!!Lack on job opportunities or the guys wanting to do emale interviews in locker rooms based on SEX hmmmmmmmm
OK all men just have to drop their drawers anytie ANY woman wants but Women never have to because that would be wrong????

    • With an ass that she has I would be hiding my hard-on with a towel or two hanging off my rod. I would love just to take bite out of that butt.

Actually, men are allowed in female locker rooms just as women are allowed into the men’s. The reality is, the NFL, NBA, MBA do not offer any other option for female reporters (or male reporters for that matter) than have them enter the locker room. Reporters aren’t allowed to just walk on in — there is a specified time when they can come in and interview. It’s supposed to be after the players have been given sufficient time to shower and dress, but plenty of guys reportedly decide to still walk around naked. You might want to know what you’re talking about before you decide to form an opinion on something you know nothing about.

can you get me a job as a locker room interviewer for a Professional Womens Volleyball league?

I not sure what you consider enough time to shower and get dressed after a game? However consider this you are a top player and before you can get to the locker room you are beseiged by herd of reprters and fans, being a nice guy you give some interviews and sign some autographs. That can can take 30 to 40 miniutes. You get to the locker room and then talk with your coaches and fellow players another 20 to 30 miniutes. You then need to have a trainer cut the tape on you Ankles, maybe knees and wrists, and now you finialy can take off the rest of your uniform. Most times players are given 30 minutes before repoters are allowed in the locker room. You as the player are tired beat-up soare maybe bleeding and dirty and sweaty or if it late in the season cold all you want is t20 to 30 miniutes of water beating on you back and neck. You get out of the shower and frankly don’t give a rats butt if you buck naked or not . Then comes Inez Sainz with jeans that so tight they may well have be painted on and a halter top just what sort of comments does she think football players are going to say. I hate to say anything said to her or gestures made to her she was asking for it. If she was dressed in normal bussiness clothes and not a outfit that looked like she was going out clubing she would have a llegimate complaint. An let be honest she has herd much worse if she dressed like that and walked past a constrution site. It not as if she has not encouraged what could be considered inapproprite behavior when she willing got carried on the shoulders of some linemen. This sort of reminds me of a line for a Cleant Eastwood movie “If she wants to play Lumberjack she has be able to handle her end of the Log”

Amen! That’s exactly right. All athletes should speak up. It’s a complete double standard and should end. How would these women feel if it was their naked husband being interviewed by someone admitting to using her sexuality to get ahead. This is a joke. Get the heck out of our locker rooms!

We need to teach that stone aged murder cult a lesson and make all women dress like this babe. Oh God I wish I had me one like her…who of course, allowed me free access to touch… Yowie!
That murder freak who started the murder cult requires veils one women because otherwise they cannot fantasize camel face, in the tent at night… yech. If they did not need killing so badly I would say we should teach them about bathing. You know, bring them up to the 17th century.

Not saying what the Jets did was right, but a fact that is lost, this hottie complained it was sexual harrassment then gets her face published all over, especially in the NY media for free. She was doing interviews the night of the game, yes, I saw her at the stadium. She was the news. This was the biggest public relations hit this woman ever had. This morning, she was on two network morning shows, wearing, you guessed it a very provocative outfit showing off the assets. Something which raises eyebrows. This might be acceptable for Spanish TV but it won’t fly in any US media markets. In this interview she says it “Wasn’t sexual harrassment” but it made her uncomfortable and she was embarrassed. OK, she went into a man’s locker room looking like this, tight clothing etc, with naked men walking around, and she felt embarrased? What about the players? She even said she wouldn’t take legal action. So where is the story? She now got a three days out fo this story.

The story is this clever hottie, targeted a team which just starred on their own HBO show and was getting all the buzz, then used her assets to get into all major news media to sell herself with a non story which she really doesn;t feel that strongly about. Anyone want to bet she just auditioned for her next gig in the US as some sports newscaster?

Honestly if the jets staff or players just whistled at her, then it’s not a big deal!! She’s smoking hot and probably gets hit-on all the time so she should be used to it! I could see if she got touched, but a couple of whistles cmon!!!

Good self promoting PR on her part.
She is a babe for sure. Tons of girls do this. She just has the luxury of access to the public media. And it worked! I have dedicated a couple of showers to her! But, just remember you can take the hotest girl on the planet and some guy is sick of fucking her. Yet, it would take quite a long time to get sick of this gem.

    September 17, 2010 at 12:39 pm

  25. How could they tell the difference between her and the dozens of groupies who hang outside of practices and games?

Truth is, they cannot. She’s touching them, asking to be picked up and wearing clothing that sends a sexual message. If it walks like a groupie, talks like a groupie, gropes like a groupie and dresses like a groupie…then why get mad that they thought she was one?

There is a double standard. The NFL sells athletes to the audience as sexual objects. Why? Because women hold the spendin gmoney. They allow cameras into locker rooms not because of “contracts” but because of $$$. Women have eyes. We like eye candy. and the NFL serves it up on a platter. From the towel laden bodies of athletes in locker rooms, to the fitness gear that clinches every muscle in their bodies.

It is for us and for men who want us to look at them the way we look at athletes. So when a woman wants to be a sex object, as Ms. Sainz clearly does, why do other people get mad when she gets treated as one? She’s at liberty to do so, isn’t she?

And Clinton Portis deserves an apology for being forced to apologize. He told the truth.
