Notre Dame Head Coach Charlie Weis has yet to figure out how to beat Pete Carroll and USC. If you just looked at the final score, you may be fooled into thinking that the schools are on equal footing. I watched every snap of the game and I’m coming away believing that USC has the superior athletes. If they wouldn’t have committed so many personal fouls, the score would have been much worse with USC winning by at least 3 touchdowns.
The Domers still have a long way to go.
So let me get this straight… you get paid millions of dollars to coach the most storied football program in America right? Yet, you lose at home to a Syracuse team with 8 loses? Then you travel to Southern California and cannot coach your team to a first down until the final play of the 3rd quarter? You’ve also had 4 years to turn this program around and have lost more games during the last two season than any head coach in school history. But today, ND Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick publicly announced he’s bringing you back for another year.
Swarbrick stated in a released statement, “Though this past season fell short of the expectations that all of us have for our football program, I am confident that Charlie has a strong foundation in place for future success and that the best course of action is to move forward under his leadership.”
Say what????? He needs to go… by the way, how have those New England Patriots been doing since this genius left four years ago?
And another thing… if Notre Dame wouldn’t have given CW that ridiculous contract they could be making a play at two superior coaches. Brian Kelly (Cincinnati) and Mike Leach (Texas Tech) have proven to be special offensive coaches that would have made the jump from the current jobs to Notre Dame.
Thank you Georgia Tech… thank you Penn State… and thank you Michigan!!!! For kicking the Golden Domers around the football field to the tune of a combined score of 120 – 13. I understand that their offense is so bad, the NCAA will allow the Domers to have 5 downs instead of 4 against Michigan State.
It’s is priceless to see the Genius “aka” Charlie Weiss try to explain how his team has yet to score an offensive touchdown in 2007. Maybe he can explain how his defense is giving up more points than your national airline carrier.
This guy gets a pass on this horrible year because everyone still wants to blame Ty Willingham for terrible recruiting. Did these same critics blame Bob Davie for Ty’s 3rd (and last) year in South Bend? Of course they didn’t… they gave Davie credit for Ty’s first year success and ran him out of town after 3 years of a 5 year contract. The first coach never allowed to complete his contract as the head coach.
Don’t worry Domer Nation… Navy, Air Force, Duke and Stanford are on the schedule beginning in November. You can run off 4 wins and get the false sense of momentum for the 2008 season. And I don’t want to hear about your projected #1 recruiting class for 2008. That means nothing!
For Domer Haters like us this is a great year and one we will not soon forget.
Notre Dame projected 2007 finish: 4 wins 8 losses
